Variety is reporting that Legendary Pictures has come on board to co-finance and co-produce the videogame adapation of Gears of War, from Microsoft and Epic Games. The film will be directed by Len Wiseman, and Chris Morgan is writing the script. The film’s being targeted for a 2009 release.

According to IESB, New Line is close to announcing who will be behind two major upcoming projects; the Gears of War adaption and the Escape from New York remake.
