The premiere of “Engineering An Empire” on The History Channel drew 1.46M viewers, besting the previous high for the network achieved in January of 2005 by “Digging for the Truth” (1.44M viewers).

The season 3 premiere of the Sci Fi Channel critical favorite and recent recipient of a Peabody Award, premiered last week with a 1.8 rating (1.0 A18-49). That’s a shade under 2.2M viewers (2.16M).

Delivering a 3.5 household rating and an average of 4.33 million total viewers in primetime, ESPN stayed on top the ratings for Cable television networks. The “Monday Night Football” matchup between the Eagles and Packers (12.89M) was tops for the cable net.

Sci Fi has renewed its freshman dramedy Eureka for an additional 13 episodes.
All the original cast is expected to return for the shows second season, with production set to begin in the Spring of next year for a debut of Summer of 2007.
The series premiered with a very strong 3.2 rating (4.1M viewers) before settling into an average rating of 2.2 (2.7M viewers).
It was the highest rated original series on Sci Fi over the summer, beating Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1 and is credited with bringing an addition 5M new viewers to the network over the course of the shows 13 episodes.

For the third week in a row, Monday Night Football delivered the highest ever rating for ESPN.
The third week game that seen the New Orleans Saints return to the Superdome after the Katrina disaster, and defeat the Atlanta Falcons 23-3, attracted 10.8M households (11.8 Rating) and 14.9M viewers, surpassing the previous record holder (Pittsburgh/Jacksonville – 9.81M Households and 13.33M viewers).
This is also the first time that any broadcast on ESPN has reached more than 10M homes.

The contest between The Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars drew an estimated 9.81M Households (13.33M viewers), an increase from last week’s first regular season telecast (12.57M viewers for the first game between the Vikings and Redskins and 10.495M viewers for the game between the Chargers and Raiders).
It is now the highest rated program in the history of ESPN.
The game scored a 5.4/15 A18-49 rating, behind only CSI: Miami in the key demo.
The football game gave ESPN the win in all male demos for the evening.
