SGA/AMPTP Contract Negotiations Have Started April 16, 2008 7:38 pm

Contract negotiations between the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the studios (who will be represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers/AMPTP) have begun.  The solo negotiations, the first time in 27 years that SAG has had solo negotiations with Hollywood studios, began after the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) rejected an offer for combined talks.  Details can be found here.

That’s right. After nearly three months, the WGA writers strike is very close from being settled. The tentative agreement was informally ok’d by the WGA East and West, and leaders voted to end the strike. Members will vote on Tuesday.

AMPTP Invites WGA Back to Negotiating Table [Update] WGA Responds January 17, 2008 9:34 pm

With a new tentative agreement having been set between the DGA and the AMPTP (story here), the AMPTP has invited the Writers Guild of America back to the negotiating table in hopes of reaching a similar deal.

The Directors Guild of America has reached a tentative agreement on a new three year contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
