Bloody Disgusting has confirmed that Columbia Pictures is moving forward with a sequel to Ghost Rider, having actively begun seeking a writer for the film. Star Nicolas Cage is already signed on to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze.
Ghost Rider, released in 2007, grossed $228.7 million worldwide, but the film’s budget of $110 million left a lot to be desired in terms of proftability, with the studio having to rely mostly on DVD sales and other ancilliary sources.
