Sylvester Stallone and MGM are looking to make a remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson starring film Death Wish.  Stallone is in talks to direct and star in the film, which follows an ordinary man who goes vigilante after his wife and daughter are attacked.

The script will be written by Michael Ferris and John Brancato (Terminator 3 and Terminator: Salvation: The Future Begins).

Depending on the length of the writers strike, MGM hopes to begin production in March.  Paramount owns some rights to Death Wish, but MGM will go ahead with the film regardless of the studio opts in or out of it.
