Despite the feelings of many in the industry, and certainly some of the shows still faithful fans, executive producer John Wells isn’t ready to give up on E.R. just yet.
At a bash celebrating the shows 300th episode, Wells spoke to Variety, telling them he’s expected to begin talks with NBC on another season sometime this month.
It’s been expected that this would be the shows last season given its lower ratings, which simply can’t justify paying its large fee (believed to be in the neighborhood of $5 million per episode).
Now in its 14th season, E.R. has averaged 9.34 million viewers, a 6.2/10 household rating/share and a 3.8/10 adults 18-49 rating/share.
