Comedy Central and Jon Stewart have reached terms to extend their contract with Stewart to host and executive produce The Daily Show for two more years, through 2010.

“I love doing this show,” said Stewart.

The extension takes Stewart out of the running for Conan O’Brien’s expected Late Night opening in 2009, as Brien will be migrating over to The Tonight Show (taking over for Jay Leno).

Stewart has hosted The Daily Show since January 11, 1999.
