Gears of War is preparing to go into production, despite the videogame adaption yet to have an announced director.

Based on the popular Xbox 360 game, the film will take place during the Pendulum Wars.

Produced by Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, Gears of War will be written by Stuart Beattie.

Gears of War for the Xbox 360has sold over 3 million units.
