HBO has renewed Big Love for a third season, ordering up a full 12 episode season of the series.
Big Love has struggled in its new Monday night home, settling in to a weekly first-run viewership of around 2 million viewers (last night’s episode had an audience of 1.87 million viewers), well off the roughly 4 million who viewed the show last season (on average) when it aired after The Sopranos. HBO, however, notes that when DVR data and weekly re-runs are added in, the show’s audience climbs to 6 million.
The first of HBO’s current crop of series that has been renewed for a new season, Big Love airs Monday nights at 9:00 p.m., but will return to its original Sunday night home (9:00 p.m.) once John From Cincinnati finishes its first season run.
