Phillips Out As NBC Dateline Anchor May 22, 2007 6:30 pm

NBC has decided to not renew their ties with long-time Dateline co-anchor Stone Phillips, ending the anchor’s run on the newsmagazine and leaving Anny Curry as the sole anchor on the show.
Philips had the following to say in a statement: “I’m profoundly appreciative of the many friends and colleagues, past and present, who have been a part of the ‘Dateline’ family.” “This is a great news division with a bright future. I wish the people of NBC News all the best.”
The move is part of NBC’s overall cost-cutting measures.
Dateline NBC was renewed for Saturday and Sunday editions during the coming year.
