Warner Bros.’ TMNT took first place over the weekend, finishing just ahead of last week’s number one movie 300 (which passed the $150M mark on Saturday). TMNT took in $24.26M from 3,110 theaters.
There were five other new releases in the top 10, Parmount’s Shooter in third place with $14.52M from 2,806, New Line’s The Last Mimzy in fifth place with $10.02M from 3,017 theaters, Fox Atomic’s The Hills Have Eyes 2 in sixth place with $9.69M from 2,447 theaters, Sony’s Reign Over Me in eighth place with $7.46M from 1,671 theaters and in ninth place was Liongate’s Pride with $3.53M from 1,518 theaters.
Rounding out the top 10 was the aforementioned 300 in second place, as it dropped only one spot and 39.6% to take in $19.86M from 3,280 theaters ($161.71M through 17 days of release), Wild Hogs was down two spots and 27.3% (the best holdover for any movie in the top 10) in fourth place with $13.85M from 3,401 theaters ($123.30M through 24 days of release), Premonition dropped four spots and 45.5% to seventh place with $9.56M from 2,831 theaters ($31.65M through 10 days of release) and lastly in 10th place was Dead Silence, which dropped six spots and 56.1% with $3.4M from 1,806 sites ($13.22M through 10 days of release).
The best per theater average in the top 10 went to TMNT, which averaged $7,799 per theater.What follows below is the top 10 chart (Actuals) for the weekend.
