Elton John announced that he will be making his catalog of song from more than 30 albums available for digital download.

More than 400 tracks will be available exclusively through Apples iTunes service from March 26 to April 30, before being made available elsewhere. Some of the songs that will be available include “Empty Sky” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. The move coincides with Elton’s 60th Birthday anniversary (a concert will be filmed and televised in April) on Sunday, as well as the release of a new compilation album titled “Rocket Man” (March 29).

“I’ve wanted my music to be available for digital download worldwide for some time, but I knew that the entire catalog — not just the hits — needed care and attention to be released in this way,” the singer said in a statement.

“Now that it’s happening, I’m pleased for the fans’ sake. The world has certainly changed since Philips Records issued my first single on 7-inch vinyl — 39 years ago this month,” he said.
