ABC has announced renewals for 11 of their shows, including three new shows: Brothers & Sisters, Men in Trees and Ugly Betty, for the 2007/08 television season.
On top of those three new series, ABC renewed current shows The Bachelor, Boston Legal, Dancing with the Stars, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Grey’s Anatomy, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Lost.
The shows join previously renewed shows America’s Funniest Home Videos, Supernanny and Wife Swap.
Missing from the renewal announcements were all of ABC’s half-hour comedies, as well as the sophomore drama What about Brian and freshman dramas The Nine and Six Degrees.
“We have had a strong year, with two of the season’s breakout hits, ‘Ugly Betty’ and ‘Brothers & Sisters,’ and the solid performance of ‘MEN IN TREES,’” said McPherson. “We are pleased that viewers have invested in these new favorites along with our other returning series. These shows provide us with a substantial foundation to make 07-08 our best schedule yet.”
