In a tight race on top, NBC comes away with the win among households and total viewers, while Fox takes the win among adults 18-49. The second week contest between 24 and Heroes is a split, with 24 taking first among households and viewers and Heroes first among adults 18-49.
NBC finished in first place for the evening with a 7.8/12 household rating and 12.46 million total viewers, but was second among adults 18-49 with a 4.6/11 rating in the key demo.

- 8:00 p.m.: Deal or No Deal (10.4/16 HH rating, 16.86M viewers, 4.8/12 A18-49 rating) was even from the week prior, providing NBC a win for the hour among all three main categories.

- Viewers – 17.56M to 16.86M

- 9:00 p.m.: Heroes (8.3/12 HH rating, 13.57M viewers, 6.1/14 A18-49 rating) was slightly down from the week prior, but was still strong among adults 18-49 (first for the evening).

- Viewers – 14.84M to 13.57M

- 10:00 p.m.: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (4.8/7 HH rating, 6.95M viewers, 3.0/8 A18-49 rating) has unfortunately failed to find an audience. Retention was very poor at 58% among households, 51% total viewers and only 49% among adults 18-49.

- Viewers – 7.41M to 6.95M
- A18-49 – 3.2/8 to 3.0/8

Fox followed in second place for the evening with a 7.3/11 household rating and 11.98 million total viewers, but was able to outrate NBC among adults 18-49 for a first place 4.8/12 rating in the key demo.

- 8:00 p.m.: Prison Break (6.0/9 HH rating, 9.91M viewers, 4.1/11 A18-49 rating) continues to perform well, especially among adults 18-49, staying pretty much even from the week prior.

- Households – 6.2/9 to 6.0/9
- Viewers – 9.90M to 9.91M
- A18-49 – 4.2/10 to 4.1/11
- Week-to-week numbers:
- 9:00 p.m.: 24 (8.5/12 HH rating, 14.05M viewers, 5.4/12 A18-49 rating) held firm from last week and was able to pull ahead of Heroes among households and viewers. Adults 18-49 was a different matter as the freshman show still has a lead in that category.

- A18-49 – 5.4/12 to 5.4/12

CBS finished in third place for the evening with a 7.1/11 household rating, 10.65 million total viewers and a 3.2/8 rating among adults 18-49.

- CBS aired an entire night of repeats, and considering that, did pretty well. It was able to manage a strong third place across the line, just slightly out of reach from NBC and Fox.
- 8:00 PM and 8:30 p.m.: Repeats of How I Met Your Mother (5.0/8 HH rating, 7.72M viewers, 2.7/7 A18-49 rating) and The Class (4.3/6 HH rating, 6.57M viewers, 2.1/5 A18-49 rating).
- 9:00 PM and 9:30 p.m.: Repeats of Two and a Half Men (8.2/12 HH rating, 12.68M viewers, 3.5/8 A18-49 rating) and The New Adventures of Old Christine (6.8/10 HH rating, 10.10M viewers, 2.9/7 A18-49 rating).
- 10:00 p.m.: CBS then ended the evening with a repeat of CSI: Miami (9.1/15 HH rating, 13.43M viewers, 3.9/10 A18-49 rating).
ABC followed in fourth place for the evening with a 5.1/8 household rating, 7.48 million total viewers and a 3.1/8 rating among adults 18-49.

- 8:00 p.m.: Hot of the heels of its renewal, Wife Swap (5.5/8 HH rating, 7.99M viewers, 3.2/8 A18-49 rating) continues to be a strong performer for ABC, especially among the key adults 18-49 demo.

- 9:00 p.m.: Also recently renewed, Supernanny (5.8/9 HH rating, 8.74M viewers, 3.5/8 A18-49 rating) stayed firm from the week prior.

- Viewers – 9.08M to 8.74M
- A18-49 – 3.6/8 to 3.5/8
- Week-to-week numbers:
- 10:00 p.m.: What About Brian (4.0/6 HH rating, 5.71M viewers, 2.7/7 A18-49 rating) continues to be a sort spot on the night for ABC. One slight positive was the increase from the week prior and a better than average performance among adults 18-49.

The CW was left for a fifth place finish with a 1.8/3 household rating, 2.43 million total viewers and a 1.1/3 rating among adults 18-49.

- 9:00 and 9:30 p.m.: Girlfriends (1.7/2 HH rating, 2.35M viewers, 1.0/2 A18-49 rating) and The Game (1.7/2 HH rating, 2.26M viewers, 1.1/2 A18-49 rating) were also unable to get many eyeballs tuning in for yet another weak evening of programming on The CW.
