World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Sets Single Day Record January 25, 2007 5:00 pm

Blizzard announced in a press release that Burning Crusade, the expansion pack to the worldwide hit World of Warcraft sold more than 2.3M copies in its first 24 hours of release, making it the fastest selling PC game ever in North America and Europe.

The hit MMORPG sold about 1.2 million copies in the USA, with the remaining 1.1 million sold throughout Europe. The game was released in North America, Europe, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia on January 16 and in Australia and New Zealand the following day. It goes on sale in other regions of the world at later dates.

More than 1.7 million players have already logged in and upgraded to play The Burning Crusade.
