The Shield, after a long hiatus, will finally be back this April for its sixth season.
FX has set the premiere for the season, which will consist of 10 episodes, for Tuesday, April 3. That marks a gap between the fifth and sixth seasons of more than one year (the season five finale aired March 21, 2006).
The Shield will takeover the timeslot which is currently being occupied by new drama Dirt.
The network also announced news that production on the seventh, and final season, is starting now. 13 episodes are scheduled to be shot beginning in late spring, with the season planned to air during early 2008.
What a fantastic show. So much talent all in one place. I will hate to see this series end. Just one fantastic show after another. Why end the series. It works. Thanks. Rich
I am so disappointed the shield is ending, I cannot get enough of it.
Wish it could go on forever. There is always something new happening and it keeps you on your toes.
love it

I love the Shield and do not want it to end. It is one of the few shows I watch on televiions. At least the final season is set to have 13 shows instead of 10. I would prefer that it had a full season of at least 20 – 24 shows. It will be missed!!!
