Broadcast TV Ratings for Tuesday, December 26, 2006 December 27, 2006 7:20 pm

CBS takes another Tuesday among households and total viewers with a strong showing from a repeat of NCIS (the nights top rated show among households and viewers) and the annual The Kennedy Center Honors program. A repeat of House was the nights highest rated show among adults 18-49 as two episodes of the series led Fox to a A18-49 win for the evening.
CBS finished in first place for the evening with a 6.7/11 household rating and 10.62 million total viewers. But among adults 18-49, the Eye earned a third place 2.2/6 rating.

- 8:00 PM: CBS began the evening with a repeat of NCIS (7.2/12 HH rating, 11.85M viewers, 2.8/9 A18-49 rating) which brought the network strong ratings. The program was the nights highest rated among households and viewers and was tied for second for the night among adults 18-49.
- 9:00 to 11:00 PM: CBS maintained their lead with the annual The Kennedy Center Honors (6.3/11 HH rating, 10.01M viewers, 1.9/5 A18-49 rating) which was down some from last year among households but stayed even among adults 18-49 and was only slightly down among total viewers (check the numbers below).

NBC followed in second place for the evening among households with a 5.4/9 household rating, but was third among total viewers (8.27 million). Among adults 18-49, the Peacock earned a second place 2.6/7 rating.

- 8:00 PM: An hour of Dateline (5.1/9 HH rating, 7.49M viewers, 2.1/6 A18-49 rating) gave the peacock a second place finish among households, but the program lagged behind NCIS and House among total viewers and adults 18-49.
- 9:00 PM: A repeat of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (5.2/9 HH rating, 8.16M viewers, 2.5/7 A18-49 rating) ticked up some for NBC.
- 10:00 PM: And NBC ended the evening with another repeat, this time of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (6.0/11 HH rating, 9.16M viewers, 3.2/10 A18-49 rating) which was NBC’s strongest performer for the evening, winning the hour among adults 18-49.
Fox finished in third place for the evening among households with a 5.2/9 household rating, second among total viewers (8.41 million) and a strong first place 3.2/9 rating among adults 18-49.

- 8:00 PM: A repeat of House (4.7/8 HH rating, 7.60M viewers, 2.8/9 A18-49 rating) opened the hour for Fox, as it led into another repeat of..
- 9:00 PM: House (5.7/10 HH rating, 9.22M viewers, 3.6/10 A18-49 rating) which increased an very noteworthy 1.62M viewers, 21% among households and 29% among adults 18-49. It was the nights highest rated program among the key A18-49 demographic.
ABC followed in fourth place for the evening with a 2.9/5 household rating and 4.63 million total viewers and a 1.6/4 rating among adults 18-49.

- 8:00 PM: ABC aired a repeat of Rudolph’s Shiny New Year (4.8/9 HH rating, 8.64M viewers, 3.2/9 A18-49 rating) which performed decently, but not as strongly as some of their Christmas themed Rudolph specials.
- 9:00 and 9:30 PM: New episodes of “Big Day”(2.5/4 HH rating, 3.99M viewers, 1.4/4 A18-49 rating) and (2.5/4 HH rating, 3.85M viewers, 1.4/4 A18-49 rating) continued to perform poorly, but ABC is determined to run off the remaining episodes. ABC is going to have a very hard time winning the TV season among adults 18-49. Their line-up has suffered without new airings of their key shows.

- Households – 3.3/5 to 2.5/4
- Viewers – 4.75M to 3.92M
- A18-49 – 1.8/5 to 1.4/4

- 10:00 PM: A repeat of Boston Legal (3.3/6 HH rating, 4.97M viewers, 1.6/5 A18-49 rating) ended the overall weak showing from the alphabet.
The CW was left for a fifth place finish with a 1.2/2 household rating, 1.60 million total viewers and a fifth place 0.7/2 rating among adults 18-49.

- 1.1/3 A18-49 rating [#5]
- 8:00 PM: A repeat of Gilmore Girls (1.3/2 HH rating, 1.87M viewers, 0.8/2 A18-49 rating) got the CW off to a slow start.
- 9:00 PM: While a repeat of Veronica Mars (0.9/2 HH rating, 1.33M viewers, 0.6/2 A18-49 rating) dipped even further. Giving the CW another weak evening.
