Cowboys/Giants pulls in nearly 28M viewers. December 9, 2006 1:15 am

The contest between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants this past Sunday on Fox , delivered a 17.8/32 household rating and share, drawing 27.6M viewers.

The telecast built as the game progressed, going from a 14.2 household rating (21.3M viewers) to a 19.7 household rating in the 7:00 PM hour (31.2M viewers).

It now stands as the highest-rated and most viewed NFL regular season Sunday afternoon game since 1997 (on any network).

It also drew an impressive 10.0 A18-49 rating.

Fox’s national Sunday NFL game presenations are averaging an impressive 14.7 rating (up 12% from last year’s 13.1) and is currently ranked #1 for the year as the highest-rated program on television (ahead of ABCs “Greys Anatomy” which is averaging a 14.2 rating this season).
