NBC has gone ahead and ordered the back-nine of the freshman comedy “30 Rock”, on the heels of an uptick in ratings for the most recent episode.
It’s the last of NBCs new shows this fall season that had not yet been pulled, canceled or renewed for a full season (“Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”, “Friday Night Lights” and “Heroes” were given full season orders, while “Kidnapped” and “Twenty Good Years” were pulled earlier in the season).
NBC waited on the announcemnt of the shows future because they wanted to see how it peformed after its time-slot change to Thursday nights.
The show averaged 6.6M viewers and a 3.0/7 A18-49 rating in its second Thursday night telecast (according to preliminary numbers), an improvement of 25% in the key demo from its first Thursday night airing the week prior.
In its original Wednesday night time-slot, the show averaged 6.4M viewers and a 2.4/7 A18-49 rating.
