In its first day of release, “Casino Royale”, the latest movie in the Bond franchise, grossed an estimated $14.75M, ahead of the other wide-opening movie this weekend “Happy Feet” which grossed an estimated $11.75M.

It is slightly behind the $16.62M which was grossed by “Die Another Day” in its first day of release back in 2002, but inline with studio estimates and predictions.
