CBS takes households, viewers and adults 18-49, but NBC stays close behind. The CW beats FOX as the return of “Vanished” in its new timeslot fizzles.
CBS finished in first place for the evening with a 7.3/13 HH rating (11.29M viewers) and a 3.3/10 A18-49 rating.

- 10.87M viewers [#2]
- 3.0/9 A18-49 rating [#2]
- At 8:00 PM, “Ghost Whisperer”, (7.2/12 HH rating, 11.14M viewers, 3.6/11 A18-49 rating) gained nicely from the week prior, especially in adults 18-49, where it gained an impressive 20% and was the nights highest rated program in that demo.

- Viewers – 10.79M to 11.14M
- A18-49 – 3.0/11 to 3.6/11
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- At 9:00 PM, “Close to Home” (7.6/13 HH rating, 11.61M viewers, 3.0/9 A18-49 rating) also improved from last week and came away with the win on the evening in households and viewers.

- Viewers – 10.81M to 11.61M

- At 10:00 PM, “Numb3rs” (7.2/13 HH rating, 11.12M viewers, 3.3/10 A18-49 rating) continued the trend of improving from last week and winning its timeslot against strong competition from NBC’s Law & Order.

- At 9:00 PM, “Las Vegas” (5.8/10 HH rating, 8.95M viewers, 2.8/8 A18-49 rating) did not falter much from its premiere numbers the week before, doing enough for a 2nd on the hour in households, viewers and adults 18-49.

- At 10:00 PM, the Chevy Chase guest starring episode of “Law & Order” (7.1/13 HH rating, 10.71M viewers, 3.1/9 A18-49 rating) rebounded very strongly from its poor numbers last week with a strong number two on the hour in households, viewers and adults 18-49. The series was the highest rated program on the night for NBC in households and viewers. Gains were 18% in households, 22% in viewers and 19% in adults 18-49 from the week prior.

- From 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, a special two-hour edition of “20/20” (5.3/9 HH rating, 7.78M viewers, 2.7/8 A18-49 rating) stayed relatively even from the week prior.

The CW followed in fourth place with a 2.9/5 HH rating (4.80M viewers), and a 1.6/5 A18-49 rating.

- From 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, “WWE Smackdown” (2.9/5 HH rating, 4.80M viewers, 1.6/5 A18-49 rating) grew from last week and put up a strong enough performance to ensure a fourth place finish for the network ahead of the struggling FOX. The program peaked in its second hour to a 3.1/6 household rating (from a 2.7/5 in its first).

- At 8:00 PM, the returning “Vanished” (2.3/4 HH rating, 3.33M viewers, 1.0/3 A18-49 rating) opened in its new time-period and didn’t do very well losing 45% of its households, 49% of its viewers and 52% of its adults 18-49 crowd from the last newly aired episode back at the end of September.

- At 9:00 PM, “Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy” (2.5/4 HH rating, 3.68M viewers, 1.6/5 A18-49 rating) improved some from its lead-in (especially in adults 18-49 where it grew a substantial 60%) but still didn’t do enough to take FOX out of fifth place for the night.
