J.J. Abrams, who is currently writing and will direct the new movie in the Star Trek franchise, told TV Guide that the movie is on track, and everyone involved with the project is extremely excited with what is to come.
“The framework is firmly in place, the script is being written now, and we are incredibly enthusiastic about it,” Abrams told TV Guide.
Abrams declined to mention any details in regards to casting of the movie. “It’s way too early to talk about casting,” he said. “But the story is incredibly cool. All of us working on it are just giddy about it.”
