Broadcast TV Ratings for Saturday, October 28, 2006 October 30, 2006 8:14 pm

Not much happening on this slow night, as CBS takes the win in households and viewers with their repeat line-up of crime dramas.


CBS finished in first for the evening with a 4.9/9 HH rating (7.11M viewers), but was third in A18-49, delivering a 1.7/6 rating in that demo.

  • Last Week’s Numbers:
    • 4.0/7 HH rating [#t2]
    • 5.95M viewers [#2]
    • 1.9/6 A18-49 rating [#2]
  • At 8:00 PM, a repeat of “Numb3rs” (3.8/7 HH rating, 5.59M viewers, 1.3/5 A18-49 rating), started off the evening for CBS.
  • At 9:00 PM, a repeat of “CSI: NY” (5.5/10 HH rating, 8.17M viewers, 1.7/6 A18-49 rating) was the nights highest rated program in households and viewers.
  • At 10:00 PM, a new “48 Hours Mystery” (5.4/10 HH rating, 7.67M viewers, 2.2/7 A18-49 rating) ended the evening for the Eye as the highest rated program in adults 18-49 for the night.

ABC followed in second with a 3.7/7 HH rating (6.16M viewers) but was first in adults 18-49, delivering a 2.0/7 rating in that demo.

  • Last Week’s Numbers:
    • 2.9/5 HH rating [#4]
    • 4.71M viewers [#4]
    • 1.6/5 A18-49 rating [#4]
  • From 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, ABC decided to air only one program, the movie “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (3.7/7 HH rating, 6.16M viewers, 2.0/11).

NBC finished in third with a 3.6/7 HH rating, but had less viewers (5.17M viewers), and was fourth in A18-49, delivering a 1.4/5 rating in that demo.

  • Last Week’s Numbers:
    • 4.0/7 HH rating [#t2]
    • 5.81M viewers [#3]
    • 1.8/6 A18-49 rating [#3]
  • At 8:00 PM, “Dateline NBC” (3.6/7 HH rating, 5.22M viewers, 1.5/5) began the evening for NBC, enough for third place in the time-period.
  • At 9:00 PM, a new “Kidnapped” (2.6/5 HH rating, 3.78M viewers, 1.2/4 A18-49 rating), didn’t improve any from its time-period premiere last week.
  • At 10:00 PM, “Law & Order: SVU (R)” (4.6/8 HH rating, 6.52M viewers, 1.7/6) was the nets top performer on the evening.

FOX followed in fourth for the evening with a 3.2/6 HH rating (5.02M viewers) but was second in adults 18-49, delivering a 1.8/6 rating in that demo.

  • Last Week’s Numbers:
    • 7.3/13 HH rating [#1]
    • 11.73M viewers [#1]
    • 3.4/11 A18-49 rating [#1]
  • From 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Fox aired four repeat episodes of “Cops” (3.2/6 HH rating, 5.02M viewers, 1.8/6 A18-49 rating) good enough for a second place performance on the evening for the network.
