Game 1 Of The World Series propelled Fox to an easy ratings win.
FOX finished first for the evening with a 7.3/13 HH rating (11.73M viewers) and a 3.4/11 A18-49 rating.

- 2.0/7 A18-49 rating [#2]
- At 8:00 PM, “MLB World Series Game 1: St Louis Cardinals at Detroit Tigers” (11.73M viewers, 3.4/11 A18-49 rating) easily gave Fox the win for the evening, however these ratings aren’t even the highest of the playoffs. Thursday’s Game 7 between the Mets and Cardinals holds that honor so far this season with 14.11 million viewers. The comparable game 1 of the World Series last season between the Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox delivered the following results; 9.4/17 (4.5) with 15.01M viewers.
CBS tied with NBC for second with a 4.0/7 HH rating, but had more viewers (5.95M viewers), and was second in A18-49, delivering a 1.9/6 rating in that demo.

- From 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, CBS chose to air the movie “The Bourne Identity” (6.71M viewers, 2.2/7 A18-49 rating) and got better results than ABC’s movie.

- Viewers – 8.65M to 6.71M

- At 8:00 PM, “Dateline” (6.37M viewers, 1.9/7) began the evening for NBC, enough for second place in the time-period.
- At 9:00 PM, “Kidnapped” (4.26M viewers, 1.2/4 A18-49 rating), opened in its new time-period (where it will effectively burn off its remaining episodes) didn’t register much of an audience.
- At 10:00 PM, “Law & Order: SVU (R)” (6.82M viewers, 1.9/6) was the nets top performer on the evening.
ABC followed in fourth for the evening delivering a 2.9/5 HH rating (4.71M viewers) and a 1.6/5 A18-49 rating.

- From 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, ABC decided to air only one program, the movie “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” (4.71M viewers, 1.6/5).
