In A Very Close Evening Between CBS and NBC, CBS takes Households and Viewers, While NBC Settles for A18-49.
CBS finished first for the evening with a 7.2/13 HH rating (11.08M viewers) and second in A18-49, delivering a 3.1/10 rating in that demo.
- Last Week’s Numbers:
- 7.0/12 HH rating [#2]
- 10.66M viewers [#2]
- 2.8/9 A18-49 rating [#2]
- At 8:00 PM, “Ghost Whisperer” (10.26M viewers, 2.9/10 A18-49 rating) provided good competition to its main competitor, “Deal or No Deal”, tying that program in households.

- Households – 6.4/12 to 6.7/12
- Viewers – 9.95M to 10.26M
- A18-49 – 2.8/10 to 2.9/10
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- At 9:00 PM, “Close to Home” (11.15M viewers, 2.8/9 A18-49 rating) showed strong growth out of lead-in “Ghost Whisperer”, and held its own against increased competition in the time-period from NBC’s “1 vs. 100”, beating that program ever so slightly in households.

- Viewers – 11.10M to 11.15M
- A18-49 – 2.8/9 to 2.8/9
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- At 10:00 PM, “Numb3rs” (11.83M viewers, 3.5/11 A18-49 rating) finished off the evening very strongly for NBC, showing nice growth from the week prior, and placed first in households, viewers and A18-49 for the hour.

- Households – 7.3/13 to 7.8/14
- Viewers – 10.93M to 11.83M
- A18-49 – 3.0/10 to 3.5/11
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
NBC followed in second place with a 7.0/13 HH rating (10.97M viewers), and first in A18-49, delivering a 3.2/10 rating in that demo.

- 11.20M viewers [#1]
- 3.4/11 A18-49 rating [#1]
- At 8:00 PM, “Deal or No Deal” (10.95M viewers, 2.8/10 A18-49 rating), while down from last week, still won the hour, although slightly, in total viewers and households.

- Viewers – 11.40M to 10.95M
- A18-49 – 3.2/11 to 2.8/10
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- At 9:00 PM, “1 vs. 100” (11.90M viewers, 3.7/12 A18-49 rating) held on to most of its premiere audience. It posted wins on the night in viewers and A18-49.
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- Households – 7.8/13 to 7.2/13
- Viewers – 12.56M to 11.90M
- A18-49 – 4.1/13 to 3.7/12
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- At 10:00 PM, “Law & Order” (10.07M viewers, 3.0/10 A18-49 rating) was actually the only program on NBC this Friday to increase its audience, viewers and Adults 18-49 from the previous week. It placed a strong second in the time-period in all categories.
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- Households – 6.3/11 to 6.7/12
- Viewers – 9.40M to 10.07M
- A18-49 – 2.9/9 to 3.0/10
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
ABC finished in third place with a 4.4/8 HH rating (6.19M viewers), and a 1.8/6 A18-49 rating.
- Last Week’s Numbers:
- 4.8/8 HH rating [#4]
- 6.83M viewers [#4]
- 2.1/7 A18-49 rating [#4]
- At 8:00 PM, ABC replaced encores of “Grey’s Anatomy” with the season premiere of “Extreme Makeover” (4.91M viewers, 1.4/5 A18-49 rating) and did not see very good results. The move also seems to have had a negative effect on lead-out “MenIn Trees”, more on that down below.

- At 9:00 PM, “Men In Trees” (6.16M viewers, 1.6/5 A18-49 rating), with its decreased lead-in of “Grey’s Anatomy” posted its weakest ratings to date. Most significant of course was its slide in A18-49 of nearly 30%.
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- Households – 5.1/9 to 4.4/8
- Viewers – 7.15M to 6.16M
- A18-49 – 2.2/7 to 1.6/5
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- At 10:00 PM, “20/20” (7.49M viewers, 2.5/8) built impressively out of its lead-in in A18-49, growing more than 56% in the demo.
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
- Households – 5.1/9 to 5.3/10
- Viewers – 7.35M to 7.49M
- A18-49 – 2.3/7 to 2.5/8
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
The CW followed in fourth for the evening delivering a 2.7/5 HH rating (4.57M viewers) and a 1.5/5 A18-49 rating.
- Last Week’s Numbers:
- 2.3/4 HH rating [#5]
- 3.74M viewers [#5]
- 1.3/4 A18-49 rating [#5]
- From 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, “WWE Smackdown” (4.57M viewers, 1.5/5) continues to be one of the more consistent shows for The CW, ensuring a non last place ranking for the new network.

- Households – 2.3/4 to 2.7/5
- Viewers – 3.74M to 4.57M
- A18-49 – 1.3/5 to 1.5/5
- Week-to-Week Numbers:
Fox finished in fifth for the evening delivering a 2.4/4 HH rating (3.55M viewers) and a 1.4/5 A18-49 rating.

- 5.7/10 HH rating [#3]
- 8.32M viewers [#3]
- 2.5/8 A18-49 rating [#3]
- From 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, a special two-hour season premiere of “Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy” (3.55M viewers, 1.4/5) like “Extreme Makeover over” on ABC, also debuted poorly.
