Executive producer Brad Wright told TV Guide that MGM has given him the green light and enough money to film two SG-1 movies, which likely would be made available by DVD.

SG-1 is scheduled to go off the air this Spring in its 10th season. Sci Fi canceled the show after it went through a ratings dip.

The first film will tie up most of the finale’s loose threads and will be written and directed by executive producer Robert Cooper. The second film, will be written by Wright, and will involved time travel

Both films are set for debut in the fall of 2007.
