On her MySpace account, actress Jill Wagner had this to say about the cancellation of the SpikeTV Original Series:
Just wanted to say thanks again to all of you who supported me and Blade the Series. I was just informed today that there will be NO 2nd season of Blade the Series. I really enjoyed playing Krista and i hope that i did her justice at least for one season! However, that is not the end of Jill Wagner’s acting career. I will keep you guys posted on what’s next for me. Again i say thanks for the support. Hey, there is always the DVD right????

The series started off strongly, premiering in June of this year to the tune of roughly 2.5M viewers, the highest ever for a SpikeTV Original Series.
However, the show quickly lost that audience and by the fourth episode, 1.07M viewers (less than half of those who tuned in for the two-hour pilot) were still watching.

I have been waiting (it seems like forever) for the show to come on again. I think that it was a great show for Spike, everyone I know was talking positively about it. Don’t know where they got those numbers. Anyone know if anyone else will be picking up the show? Is there some one that we can harass into getting the show back onto the air? Any petitions? I’m all for signing one if anyone has one, just say the word. Man this is almost as bad as cancelling Monday Night Football!

Why did spike TV take blade the series away? It was the best show in the world. I really want to see BLADE, KRISTA and SHENS face’s again. The end fight in season one between MARCUS and BLADE was so cool I want to see what happens next. You can’t stop a show with only one season and also I want to see BLADE and MARCUS fight till the death!The BLADE in the series is just as good as the one in the movies, if not better. So come on and bring BLADE THE SERIES back. It’s the only reason I don’t go to sleep. Just bring it back this show is the best, bring it back NOW.I even named my dog after this show! His name is BLADE too.
