NBC’s first regular season presentation of ‘NFL Sunday Night Football’ bows strongly for the Peacock.

The return of the National Football League to NBC out-shined new FOX premieres to help bring NBC the win for the evening in both total households and adults 18-49. A record (for Thursday night season openers) 19.3 million viewers watched the game.
NBC, with its three hours of football coverage, delivered an 11.1/18 HH rating and a 6.7/19 A18-49 rating.
CBS finished in second place, delivering a 6.7/11 HH rating and a 3.2/9 A18-49 rating.
ABC followed in third, delivering a 4.9/8 HH rating and a 2.3/6 A18-49.
FOX finished in fourth place, delivering a 4.8/8 HH rating, though it finished ahead of ABC in A18-49, delivering a 2.7/8 in that key demo.
Bringing up the rear were soon to be ‘The CW’ netlets The WB; 1.2/2 HH rating and 0.7/2 A18-49 & UPN; 0.4/1 HH rating and 0.2/1 A18-49.
