Syfy renews Lost Girl for a third season

Syfy has renewed its hit series Lost Girl – the #1 cable drama among Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 in its time period – for a third season of 13 episodes, beginning January 2013.

During season two to-date, Lost Girl is averaging 895,000 Adults 18-49, 930,000 Adults 25-54 and 1.64 million total viewers, based on available Live +7 data.

On July 20, Lost Girl will move from Mondays at 10PM (ET/PT) to Fridays at 10PM.

Eddie Izzard, Elijah Wood and Donald Sutherland lead cast of Syfy’s new adaptation of Treasure Island; Premieres Saturday, May 5

In a special, one night only movie event, Syfy will present a fresh, new spin on the classic tale, Treasure Island, featuring an all-star cast led by Eddie Izzard, Elijah Wood and Donald Sutherland. Robert Louis Stevenson’s swashbuckling adventure story about fantastical treasure, youthful courage and murderous greed will premiere Saturday, May 5 from 7-11PM (ET/PT) on Syfy.

Izzard (The Riches, Ocean’s 12) stars as Long John Silver, Wood (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit) plays Ben Gunn and Sutherland (Pride and Prejudice, Ordinary People) portrays Flint.

Syfy renews Being Human for a third season

Syfy is ordering a third season (13 episodes) of its hit drama series Being Human, it was announced today by Mark Stern, President of Original Content, Syfy and Co-Head of Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. The announcement comes just four episodes into the 13-episode second season, which premiered on Monday, January 16.

To date, viewership for the second season has increased by an impressive +27% in Adults 18-49, +35% in Adults 25-54 and +15% in total viewers.

Syfy renews Face Off for a third season

Syfy announces that its critically acclaimed reality competition series Face Off will return for a 10-episode third season of special effects competition, offering a new group of rising SFX make-up artists with the opportunity to showcase their imagination and creativity. Production on season three will commence this Spring for a Summer 2012 premiere.

Season two of Face Off currently airsWednesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT and broke series records with its debut on January 11, transforming 2.5 million total viewers, 1.52 million Adults 18-49 and 1.31 million Adults 25-54 based on Live +7 data. Last week’s episode on February 1, including only Live + Same Day playback, delivered 1.175 million Adults 18-49 and a series-high of over two million total viewers. In its first two episodes with Live + 7 viewing, Face Off has earned its most watched episodes to-date, currently topping the first season average by 51 percent among viewers 18-49 and 56 percent among total viewers.

Syfy greenlights two-hour pilot for time travel action thriller Rewind

Syfy has given a two-hour pilot greenlight to the action thriller Rewind from BermanBraun and Universal Cable Productions, it was announced today by Mark Stern, President of Original Content, Syfy and Co-Head of Original Content for Universal Cable Productions.

Syfy developing TV series based on The Adjustment Bureau
