In a USA Today article with James Cameron about the future of 3D technology, the Avatar director revealed that he is hoping to release the film in 3D on Blu-ray this fall, but 20th Century Fox is considering a theatrical re-release: USA Today: When is Avatar coming out in 3D on Blu-ray?
