Smallville co-creators Al Gough and Miles Millar have announced that they are departing the CW show at the end of this season. The duo released an open letter to popular Smallville fansite KryptonSite announcing their plans to depart the series. “After much heartache and debate we have decided it is time for us to move on,” they say in their letter. Universal has released a new trailer for Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Starring Ron Perlman and Selma Blair and directed by Guillermo del Toro, the film hits theaters on July 11, 2008. Check out the trailer after the jump.

LatinoReview is reporting that Brendan Fraser has booked the role of Gung Ho in Stephen Sommers’ upcoming big screen live-action adaptation of G.I. Joe. The part is just a one scene cameo. The site is also reporting that an offer has been made to The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) for the role of Hector Delgado, aka Shipwreck. G.I. Joe hits theaters on August 7, 2009.

The movie poster for the stoner-comedy Pineapple Express has been released. Seth Rogen, who stars, wrote the film and Judd Apatow will produce. James Franco also stars. It hits theaters August 8th. Check out the theatrical one-sheet after the jump.

NBC today revealed their complete 52-week schedule for the 2008/2009 season, an extensive slate of programming that will take advantage of staggered launches in order to present a year-round commitment to original programming. New programming includes The Office Spinoff and Knight Rider and more, while returning shows include ER (its 15th and final season), Friday Night Lights, Lipstick Jungle, Medium, Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU. NBC today announced that the network will use the post Super Bowl slot this season to launch a spinoff series to the the hit comedy The Office. Immediately following NBC Sports’ Super Bowl XLIII coverage, the network will first present an original episode of The Office, followed by the debut of the new spinoff comedy.
