MTV Adds “The Paper” To 2008 Slate August 29, 2007 2:55 pm

MTV as added another unscripted series to their lineup, ordering up The Paper, which follows the lives of several high school students as their write and manage their Cypress Bay High School newspaper “The Circuit.

The network will premiere the series in winter 2008 (first quarter of the year).

Cypress Bay High School, located in Weston, Florida, is the largest high school in the state, with an enrollment of 5,400 students.

Eight episodes have been ordered for the series, for which executive producer Marshall Eisen calls “a docu-series”, preferring that term in replace of “reality series”.

stupid show idea. ratings will be horrible. no one cares bout watching newspaper kids. mtv is getting so stupid putting all this horrible shows. they could think of so much better.

amazing, even though i don’t go to cypress. I know a couple of people that did.

it would have been even more amazing if MTV got out of the OC and came down here to film sorta a Laguna beach type show.

now that would get ratings.

i think MTV should start filming reality shows all over in different states of different schools and how the kids are.

I know some people who write for the Circuit. Theres not that much drama going on inside the journalism room but it’s MTV so we’ll see. Cypress Bay Lightning!
