After a weak debut in their respective season openers, Battlestar Galactica and The Dresden Files both showed signs of improvement, likely due to not having to air against the AFC Championship Game.
Battlestar Galactica improved to a 1.51 household rating and 2.050 million total viewers. The only negative was a slight decline among adults 18-49 to a 0.9 rating (1.235 million demo viewers).
Change from the week prior was +248,000 viewers (+14%), +9% among households and -10% among adults 18-49 (-20,000 demo viewers).
The Dresden Files improved to a 1.48 household rating and 1.891 million total viewers. Like Battlestar, there was a slight dip among adults 18-49 to a 0.6 rating (848,000 demo viewers).
Change from the week prior was +159,000 (+9%) , 8% among households and -14% among adults 18-49 (-34,000 demo viewers).
[…] [UPDATE] […]
the reason for the current drop in ratings is Battlestar’s failure to maintain their new target audience, the 18-49 demographic. The absence of Cylon attacks and routinely mundane drama lines have sent action and thrill seekers packing. (We can watch Deperate Housewives on ABC an hour earlier).
A return to the original story line will likely bring ratings within this core category back up.
