ABC renews Body of Proof, Shark Tank and Happy Endings, but cancels Better With You, Mr. Sunshine, No Ordinary Family, Off The Map, V and Brothers & Sisters

Renewal/cancellation news continues to come in fast. ABC has picked up the Dana Delaney drama Body of Proof, the Wednesday night comedy Happy Endings and Friday night competition series Shark Tank but has canceled six other shows: Brothers & Sisters; No Ordinary Family; V; Mr. Sunshine and Off The Map.

I’m very surprised ABC has renewed¬†Happy Endings, ratings have been weak — 2.8/5 HH rating/share, 4.265M viewers, 1.8/5 A18-49 rating– and it just seems odd they’d choose this show over others they’ve canceled. Good news for its fans though.

ABC announces V return: January 4, 2011 + Skating With the Stars set for November 22 premiere [Update]

Unfortunate news for V fans expecting the show to return this November. ABC has announced that the second season of the sci-fi remake won’t return until Tuesday, January 4, 2011 (9:00 pm).

Previously, the show was expected to return on November 2nd. The new date puts the wait between the season one finale and the season two premiere at nearly nine months and the gap between the series premiere and season two premiere at 14 months. Gaps so long aren’t necessarily uncommon in television, but they usually happen in cable television, not broadcast.

In other scheduling news, ABC announced that the new series Skating With the Stars will premiere on November 22, 2010 at 9:00 pm. The show will then move to Mondays at 8:00 pm for the remainder of its run.
