Clash of the Titans took in $4.066 million ($83.593M cume) on Thursday, holding off How to Train Your Dragon which added $3.806 million to its domestic box office ($108.541M cume). Rounding out the top five were¬†The Last Song ($1.526M / $32.423M cume), Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too? ($1.503M / $37.52M cume) and Alice in Wonderland ($911,002 / $313.708M cume). Box Office Numbers for Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Clash of the Titans remained in first place on Tuesday, grossing $5.019 million ($75.303M cume) and staying ahead of How to Train Your Dragon ($3.828M) which passed $100M domestically ($101.25M cume). Rounding out the top five were Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too? ($2.148M / $34.401M cume), The Last Song ($1.729M / $29.462M cume) and Alice in Wonderland ($957,200 / $311.923M cume). Weekend Box Office Numbers (April 2-4, 2010): Clash of the Titans sets new Easter record with $61.2M ($63.9M including Thursday); ‘Tyler Perry’ solid in 2nd with $29.3M

Warner Brothers’ 3D Clash of the Titans got off to a record start, grossing $61.235 million over the 3-day Easter weekend (eclipsing the previous Easter record of $40.2M set by 2006’s Scary Movie 4). Including Thursday night sneaks — $2.655M — the film has grossed $63.890 million.

The Friday to Sunday breakdown for ‘Clash’ went as follows: $26.061M on Friday, -18% on Saturday to $21.361M and down -35.3% on Sunday to $13.813 million.

Also opening strongly was Tyler Perry’s latest ‘Why Did I Get Married Too?, which took in a very solid $29.289 million from 2,155 theaters. The performance is Perry’s 3rd best opening weekend of his career (below the $41.0M opening of 2009’s ‘Madea Goes to Jail’ and the $30.0M opening of 2006’s ‘Madea’s Family Reunion’). Meanwhile Miley Cyrus’ The Last Song took in $16.007 million, good enough for fourth place and bringing its 5-day cume to $25.395 million.

Rounding out the top five was last week’s #1 How to Train Your Dragon, which fell a respectable 33.7% to third place with $29.01M ($92.136M domestic cume) and Alice in Wonderland took fifth place with $8.208M ($309.734M domestic cume). Click over the jump for the weekend chart.

Box Office Numbers for Friday, April 2, 2010: $26.06M for Clash of the Titans, $12.15M for ‘Tyler Perry’

Warner Brothers’ heavily promoted 3D feature Clash of the Titans from director Louis Leterrier debuted in a strong first place Friday, grossing an estimated $26.36 million from 3,777 theaters. Including Thursday night sneaks, the film is at an estimated $29.015 million (Note: Thursday night screenings accounted for $2.655 million of the film’s gross and Thursday night / Friday midnight screenings accounted for $4.2 million of the film’s gross).

Also opening strong yesterday was Tyler Perry’s latest ‘Why Did I Get Married Too?’, which opened in second place with an estimated $12.35 million from 2,155 theaters for a robust per theater average of $5,731. This will be Perry’s 2nd or 3rd best performing film of his career.

Third place went to DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon, which fell just 8.8% from last Friday for an estimated $11.05 million (est. $74.176 million domestic cume). Rounding out the top five were The Last Song (est. $7.1M / $16.488M cume) and Alice in Wonderland (est. $3.0M / $304.526M cume). Click over the jump for the daily chart and more analysis.
