Paramount Pictures’ Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen took in an estimated $16 million from midnight runs, the third best midnight gross of all time after The Dark Knight ($18.5M) and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith ($17 million) and best ever for a film opening on a Wednesday.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen director Michael Bay has posted an update on his official website/forum revealing that the IMAX cut of the film will run “slightly longer”. As has been reported in the past, Bay actually shot four scenes using IMAX cameras, which “will fill the IMAX screen,” just as Christopher Nolan did with The Dark Knight.
