Comic-Con 2010: Tom Hiddleston hints that Loki will be in The Avengers

Earlier Marvel Studios assembled the cast of The Avengers, but those won’t be the only characters we’ll see on screen. Tom Hiddleston is hinting that Loki, the character he plays in Thor, will be in the film:

Cinema Blend
Did you have to sign a multi-film contract and do you know if you’ll appear in the avengers?”

Hiddleston
I don’t know if I’m allowed to tell you.

Cinema Blend
That sounds like some sort of confirmation?

Hiddleston
Ok. I’ll leave it at that.

This isn’t exactly news, per say, as rumors have been around that Loki will be one of the villains in The Avengers. But Hiddleston’s comments make it all the more probable he’ll appear in the film. Click over the jump to watch the interview segment with Hiddleston where he also discusses the complex relationship between Loki and Thor.

Thor is scheduled to hit conventional and 3D theaters on May 6, 2011 with The Avengers following (unclear if it’ll also be in 3D) on May 4, 2012.
