Robert Zemeckis in talks with WB to direct remake of Wizard of Oz

Deadline is reporting that Warner Brothers is in early talks with Robert Zemeckis to direct a live-action remake of The Wizard Oz.

Interestingly, the plan is to direct the film off the original script for the 1939 classic.
