AMC announces Q1 & Q2 premiere dates for Mad Men, The Killing, Comic Book Men, The Walking Dead and Talking Dead

AMC announced today, from the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, California, premiere dates for new and returning original series in Q1 and Q2 2012, including the critically acclaimed dramas “Mad Men,” “The Killing” and “The Walking Dead,” as well as its unscripted series “Talking Dead” and “Comic Book Men.”

AMC renews The Killing for second season

AMC announced today the renewal of “The Killing” for a 13-episode second season. From writer, executive producer and series showrunner Veena Sud (“Cold Case”), season one premiered on Sunday, April 3 to 2.7 million total viewers. The series currently reigns as the second highest premiere season for an original drama in AMC history. “The Killing” is based on the successful Danish television series “Forbrydelsen” and is produced by Fox Television Studios and executive produced by Mikkel Bondesen (“Burn Notice”) for Fuse Entertainment. Season one’s finale premieres Sunday, June 19 at 10pm EST.

The Killing averages 2.7M viewers

The two-hour series premiere of AMC’s The Killing averaged 2.7M viewers. Including two encores that aired later that night (11-1a.m. and 1am to 3am), the premiere drew 4.7M viewers for the night. AMC’s new original series The Killing premieres on Sunday, April 3

AMC newest original drama, “The Killing,” will debut with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, April 3 beginning at 9pm ET/PT. Subsequent episodes will be one-hour long presentations on Sundays at 10pm ET/PT. From writer, executive producer and series’ showrunner Veena Sud (“Cold Case”), “The Killing” tells the story of the murder of a teenage girl in Seattle and the subsequent police investigation.
