Warner Brothers’ Martin Campbell-directed Green Lantern opened to a solid $3.35M midnight showings from 1,810 theaters. That was better than Marvel/Paramount’s “Thor” ($3.25M) and only slightly behind 20th Century Fox’s “X-Men: First Class” ($3.37M).

X-Men: First Class opened to a solid, albeit not very spectacular, $55,101,604 in its first weekend from 3,641 theaters. The film grossed $21.399M on Friday, added $19.713M on Saturday and ended the weekend with a $13.990 Sunday. There were no other new wide releasing films this weekend.

FX has won the broadcast rights to Warner Brothers’ The Hangover Part II. The deal is said to be worth at least $24M, with the film expected to be available to FX in late 2013-early 2014.

Warner Brothers’ The Hangover Part II grossed a live-action comedy record-breaking $103.427M over the 4-day Memorial Day holiday weekend. All-in-all, the film led the weekend to to its biggest ever, with $280M in grosses.

The Hangover Part II dropped only 5% on Friday, grossing an estimated $30.01M for an impressive $61.62M through two days. The film’s five-day gross (through Memorial Day Monday) is expected to top $135M and could even hit $140M.
