The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to hit conventional and IMAX theaters on July 20, 2012.

Writing Process Underway for Dark Knight Sequel

Buried in Deadline Hollywood’s article about David Goyer as showrunner of the ABC series FlashForward, Nikki Finke reports that The Dark Knight writer is “now writing the third Batman installment with Chris Nolan’s brother Jonah.”

Wednesday Box Office (1/6/2010): Avatar $6.9M ($33M Worldwide); Now 2nd Highest Grossing Film of All-Time

And then there was one.  With Wednesday’s $6.909 million domestic gross ($33M overall worldwide), Avatar has reached $374.446 million domestically and $757.307 million overseas.  That pushes the film to $1.132 billion worldwide which is now 2nd best all-time (passing ‘Return of the King”s $1.119 billion).

In the history of the box office, only Titanic ($1.843 billion) has grossed more (unadjusted for inflation). Head on over the jump to see how much closer Avatar has gotten to surpassing The Dark Knight for 2nd best domestically.
