Samuel L. Jackson to host VGA Ten – The Tenth Anniversary of Spike TV’s Video Game Awards

Samuel L. Jackson will return to Spike TV to host “VGA TEN,” the tenth anniversary of the “Video Game Awards” live on Friday, December 7 at 9:00pm ET/6:00pm PT. The acclaimed international film, stage and video game star, most recently featured in the summer blockbuster, “The Avengers,” has hosted the “VGAs” three times from 2005-2007.

Spike TV has renewed 1000 Ways to Die for a fourth season. The 13-episode fourth season is scheduled to premiere in March, 2012. Season three has averaged 1.6M viewers this season.

Spike TV renews Repo Games for second season

Spike TV has renewed Repo Games for a second season. New episodes of the show, which premiered this past April, are currently averaging 1 million viewers. Both Josh Lewis and Tom DeTone will return of the second season, which will air in 2012 and consist of at least 20 episodes.

Spike TV renews Auction Hunters for third season + Adds LIVE telecast

Spike TV has ordered a third season of 26 episodes of its highest-rated non-scripted original entertainment series, “Auction Hunters,” it was announced today by Sharon Levy, Spike TV’s executive vice president, original series and animation. From Brooklyn to Anchorage, from New Orleans to Hawaii, “Auction Hunters” once again follows Allen Haff and Ton Jones as they traverse the country in search of treasure hidden in storage units. The new season will include one special LIVE episode in early 2012, the first time ever for the network’s popular franchise. In this momentous event, Ton and Allen will open up a special pod live in primetime.

Spike TV has picked up a third season of 13 episodes of its first original scripted comedy series, “Blue Mountain State,” it was announced today by Larry Sullivan, director of original scripted series, Spike TV. Produced by Varsity Pictures’ Brian Robbins and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett and Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), “Blue Mountain State” experienced significant ratings growth in season 2 compared to season 1, delivering a +33% increase in Men 18-34, +50% in Men 18-24, and +14% in Men 18-49.

Spike TV to premiere the animated special Charlie Sheen’s Winningest Moments March 9

Spike TV will chronicle the ongoing Charlie Sheen saga with an animated half-hour special, “Charlie Sheen’s Winningest Moments” on Wednesday, March 9 at 10:30pm ET/PT. Using the latest animation from the Taiwanese production company, Next Media Animation, the special will be a countdown of 10 to 12 of Sheen’s most outlandish moments. The special will be hosted by two Taiwanese female characters, “The Goddesses.”
