50/50 movie trailer

Summit Entertainment has released the trailer for the upcoming Jonathan Levine-directed comedy 50/50. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and co-writer Seth Rogen. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Synopsis

Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a 27 year old man who is otherwise in excellent health, is suddenly diagnosed with cancer. He breaks the news to his girlfriend (Bryce Dallas Howard), his best friend (Seth Rogen) and his mother (Anjelica Huston), who is also dealing with her husband (and Adam’s father) who has Alzheimer’s disease. Each deals with the news and subsequent treatment in different ways. In the middle of it all, Adam also seeks therapy from a young and inexperienced therapist (Anna Kendrick), assigned to him by the hospital, and befriends several older, wisecracking chemotherapy patients (Philip Baker Hall and Matt Frewer).

50/50 is scheduled to hit theaters on September 30, 2011.

New red band trailer for sci-fi comedy Paul

Universal Pictures has released a new red band movie trailer for the Greg Mottola-directed sci-fi comedy Paul.

Paul stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Seth Rogen (as the voice of the alien Paul) and is scheduled to hit North American theaters on March 18, 2011.

The film has already been released in the UK (February 18) where it has thus far grossed $8.97M.

The Green Hornet takes in respectable $550,000 at midnight

Sony’s sci-fi action comedy The Green Hornet opened at midnight with a respectable $550,000 from about 700 screenings. The studio says that’s on track with comparable late-night openings “Salt” and “The Other Guys”.

The Green Hornet movie trailer

Sony Pictures has released the movie trailer for Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet.

Starring Seth Rogen (who also co-wrote the film) as the title character and Jay Chou as Kato, The Green Hornet is scheduled to hit conventional and 3D theaters on January 14, 2011. Click over the jump to check out the trailer.

Official Synopsis
Britt Reid is the son of LA’s most prominent and respected media magnate and perfectly happy to maintain a directionless existence on the party scene — until his father mysteriously dies, leaving Britt his vast media empire. Striking an unlikely friendship with one of his father’s more industrious and inventive employees, Kato, they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives: fight crime. But in order to do this, they decide to become criminals themselves — protecting the law by breaking it, Britt becomes the vigilante The Green Hornet as he and Kato hit the streets.

Using all his ingenuity and skill, Kato builds the ultimate in advanced retro weaponry, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car equal parts firepower and horsepower. The Green Hornet delayed again; Will be converted to 3D

Sony has announced a second delay for the Michel Gondry-directed / Seth Rogen-scripted The Green Hornet. The film will be pushed back three weeks from December 22, 2010 to January 14, 2011.

Sony says the reason for the delay has nothing to do with recent bad buzz, and instead is because after they decided to incorporate 3D in production, they wanted to move the film away from what has become a very crowded December:

Principal Photography Starts for The Green Hornet

greenhornet_blackbeauty-090309Columbia Pictures has announced that principal photography is now underway for the Michel Gondry-directed superhero film The Green Hornet.  Seth Rogen co-wrote the script with Evan Goldberg and will star as The Green Hornet.  Taiwanese actor/pop star Jay Chou will play Kato, with Cameron Diaz and Edward James Olmos co-starring.

Columbia Pictures also announced two new cast additions: David Harbour and Tom Wilkinson, while Nicolas Cage remains in negotiations to appear in the film.  Head on over the jump to read the full press release.

Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet has been pushed back five months.  Columbia Pictures has set a December 17, 2010 release for the film, co-written and starring Seth Rogen.  However, the delay may not be such a bad thing.  At least that’s what Rogen told HitFix:
