DGA Announces Nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for 2009

The Directors Guild of America has announced the nominations for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for 2009.  This year’s five nominees are Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), James Cameron (Avatar), Lee Daniels (Precious: Based on the Novel “Push” by Saphire), Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) and Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds). The winner will be named at the DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, January 30, 2010.

Nominations for the 2010 PGA Awards + National Society of Film Critics Names The Hurt Locker Best of 2009

The Producers Guild of America has announced the 10 films nominated for the Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award.  The 10 films are: Avatar, District 9, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Invictus, Precious: Based on the Novel “Push” by Sapphire, Star Trek, Up and Up in the Air.

Meanwhile after voting this weekend, the National Society of Film Critics awarded The Hurt Locker with Best Picture. The film’s director, Kathryn Bigelow, was also awarded Best Director.  Head on over the jump to see the PGA press release, and the rest of the National Society of Film Critics winners.
