New Line moves Final Destination 5 up two weeks to August 12 + Apollo 18 and Sam Raimi Horror Project get new dates

New Line has pushed up the release of Final Destination 5 from August 26, 2011 to August 12. Weinstein Company is taking advantage of the shift by moving Oren Peli’s Apollo 18 out of 2012 (formerly January 6, 2012) and slating the film for August 26, 2011.

Paramount Pictures Sets October 22, 2010 Release Date for Paranormal Activity 2

Paramount Acquires Rights To Paranormal Activity Follow-Up Area 51

Paramount Pictures has won U.S. distribution rights to Area 51, the Oren Peli-directed follow-up to the hit horror film Paranormal Activity.

According to Variety, Paramount “made a high-seven figure commitment…to become co-financier with Incentive Filmed Entertainment and the Aramid Entertainment Fund.”  The three will also hold rights to any sequels.
