Ninth season of One Tree Hill will be its last

As expected, the shortened 13-episode ninth season of One Tree Hill will be the show’s last. The news was confirmed today by The CW’s Dawn Ostroff during the network’s Upfront presentation in New York.

The CW gives full season orders to Hellcats, Nikita and One Tree Hill

The CW has given full season orders to HellcatsNikita and One Tree Hill. With full-season orders having already been given out to the network’s remaining programming, Life Unexpected is now the only CW show without a full-season order.

Here are the current season averages for all three shows (all data based on final national Live + SD numbers):

  • Nikita – 1.9/3 HH rating/share, 1.1/3 A18-49 rating/share, 3.053M viewers.
  • Hellcats – 1.5/2 HH rating/share, 1.0/3 A18-49 rating/share, 2.388M viewers.
  • One Tree Hill –  1.2/2 HH rating/share, 1.0/3 A18-49 rating/share, 1.933M viewers.

The CW Announces Early Pickups Of Six Series

cwlogo-513The CW today announced that they’ve given early pickups to six of its series, five dramas and reality hit America’s Next Top Model, all of which will return in the fall 2009.

The five other shows are Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210, Smallville and Supernatural.

“As we continue to build The CW Network as a destination for young women, these six shows have clearly contributed to strengthening our schedule and our brand identity,” said Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW. “By securing these signature hits for next season, we’re furthering our commitment to deliver high-quality, original programming to our viewers, advertisers and affiliates.”
