Universal Pictures has confirmed that Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park will be re-released in 3D on July 19, 2013 which mark the film’s 20th anniversary. Jurassic Park grossed $915M worldwide and if it passes $1B, it will become Spielberg’s first directed project to surpass that mark.

Deadline reports that Morgan Freeman has joined the cast of Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion. Freeman joins Tom Cruise, Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko. It’s unknown at the moment what role Freeman will be playing in the film, but it’s said to be a “critical” part.

Variety reports that five actresses are vying to star opposite Tom Cruise in Joseph Kosinski’s Horizons (working title — formerly titled Oblivion). The five actresses are: Jessica Chastain; Olivia Wilde; Brit Marling; Noomi Rapace and Olga Kurylenko. They’re expected to audition for the role today.

Universal Pictures has signed Tom Cruise to star in Oblivion. The $100M project, originally set up at Disney, will be directed by Joseph Kosinski (“Tron: Legacy”) and is an adaptation of the Radical Publishing graphic novel. Karl Gajdusek is re-writing William Monahan’s script for the project.

Disney is no longer developeing Joseph Kosinski’s adaptation of the Radical Publishing graphic novel Oblivion. Kosinski is now free to shop the project to other studios, Deadline reports

Disney has picked up the film rights to Oblivion, the upcoming graphic novel from “Tron Legacy” director Joseph Kosinski [THR Heat Vision]:
The sci-fi project will act as a Kosinski directing vehicle and will be produced by Radical principal Barry Levine and Kosinski. Radical’s Jesse Berger will act as executive producer.
