Louis Leterrier to direct Universal’s G

Universal Pictures has announced that Louis Leterrier (“Clash of the Titans”) will direct their upcoming sci-fi disaster tentpole G. The film will be produced by Guymon Casady, Mark Gordon, George Nolfi and Michael Hackett. Their currently out to screenwriters to write the script.

Warner Brothers Will Make Decision on Clash of the Titans 3D Soon

Looks like Clash of the Titans director Louis Leterrier spoke too soon when he said in a recent interview that the studio had decided against converting the film in 3D.

In an interview with BoxOffice.com, Leterrier had the following to say:

For a moment, there was talk of releasing Clash in 3D?

Clash of the Titans Won’t Be 3D + Score Details

In an interview with MTV, Clash of the Titans director Louis Leterrier confirmed that they were looking into doing the film in 3D — first brought to light by star Sam Worthington — but says that time constraints ultimately forced them to abandon the conversion…at least for its theatrical release:

“We tried [to do 3-D for ‘Clash’].’ We tried hard. We just won’t have time,” Leterrier explained. “Maybe we possibly can re-release it in 3-D.”

“Because it was Sam Worthington, I could hear all these 3-D stories from ‘Avatar.’ And James Cameron was calling often, and I was like ‘Guys, I’m doing the best i can with [the two dimensions] I’ve got!’ So if we ever get to do [‘Clash’] in 3-D, that would be fantastic. But it’ll never be as good as James Cameron’s stereoscopic 3-D.”

Leterrier also addressed rumors about Muse being on the soundtrack.

Production Begins On Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans

clashofthetitans-042809Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have announced that principal photography on Clash of the Titans director Louis Leterrier’s remake of the 1981 film of the same.  Here’s the synopsis:

In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.
