Deadline is reporting that 20th Century Fox has set a Labor Day Weekend September 3, 2010 release date for the Robert Rodriguez written and co-directed Machete. The film stars Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Lindsay Lohan. 2oth Century Fox has won the rights to Machete, Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming film based on the “faux” trailer of the same name featured in the 2007 box office dud Grindhouse.
