Dimension Films announced today that the highly anticipated sequel FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR will open nationwide on October 4, 2013. Casting is underway, with original cast members returning to work with directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, from their script co-written by Academy Award® winner William Monahan . Academy Award® nominee Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba are already confirmed to return.

Vulture is reporting that Warner Brothers has offered Guy Ritchie (“Sherlock Holmes”) Xerxes, the follow-up to “300”. Like its predecessor, Xerxes is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel of the same name.
Vulture speculates that this means one of two things for Snyder, who directed the 2007 hit and had written the script for Xerxes:

LA Times’ Hero Complex blog is reporting that Zack Snyder has closed a writing deal to pen a big screen adaptation of Frank Miller’s Xerxes, the upcoming graphic novel prequel to Miller’s “300”. Snyder told Hero Complex that he and “300” collaborator Kurt Johnstad began work on writing the project last week:

Producer Stephen L’Heureux confirmed to Mania that the long-awaited sequel Sin City 2 will be going into production in the second half of 2010. Unlike the original, which was based on the graphic novels, the sequel will be based on an original script by Miller, who will return to co-direct with Robert Rodriguez.
